Turkey opposes any military operation against Iran and supports maintaining regional stability amid the current situation in Iran, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Thursday at a press briefing in Istanbul.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan assessed the recent developments concerning Iran and Syria during a press briefing on Thursday.
"I believe that large-scale instability in Iran would be far beyond the region’s capacity to absorb," Fidan said.
"It is also in our interest that Iran resolves its problems with key international actors and avoids scenarios of instability that could spread across the entire region," the top Turkish diplomat added, as quoted by Anadolu Agency.
Fidan also stressed that the possibility of Israeli and American attacks on Iran is not something Ankara approves of.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Fidan said that stability in Syria must be ensured as soon as possible through the implementation of the March 10 agreement.
